Hair Buzz

Technical Practice
By placing the hair onto a vibrating string, a gentle buzzing can be produced. If used with little arm weight, the buzzing will occur until the sustain dies away, if arm weight is gradually increased then it can be used to gradually dampen the sound. Note This technique is particularly effective when using the lighter areas of the bow towards the tip, Dynamic Range: pp-mf Difficulty: 2 Special Notes: Most effective when used on open strings or lower position pitches as the technique is dependant on the strings potential to vibrate. |
