Use Of The Chin

Several examples exist where the chin is used to either dampen the strings in the same manner as left hand muting or to stop pitches by pressing the string onto the fingerboard. The range of available stopped pitches is roughly an octave on each string.

Difficulty: 2-5
Special Notes: It should be assumed that if the chin is used to stop pitches, then the pitch will be approximate.
