The use of the right hand nails rather than the flesh of the finger tips can be used in the same way as the fingertips in a standard pizzicato. The right hand position must be altered slightly to ensure a good contact between string and fingernail. Notes Nail pizzicato produces a much thinner sound than regular pizzicato. The fragility of the nail limits dynamic range. With practice, it is relatively easy to develop speed when using this technique. Dynamic Range: pp-mf Difficulty: 2/3 |
